Panther f

Post by tomhugill »

I'm sure I've posted a thread about this before but it seems to have vanished! This is a bit of a mongrel. HL chassis has been strengthened with styrene so it's super stiff (more so than my asiatam metal chassis even), I've added metal asiatam wheels, suspension arms, sprockets and idlers (all with bearings) and metal high grade tracks. Power comes from speed 480 motors driving tamiya gearboxes. There is a tamiya speaker and there is a tk 22, servo recoil and elevation. Detail wise I've added Christians anti aircraft armour, travel lock and asiatam vampire night sights.

I've gone for a hard edged splinter type camo. Still some bits to do with the weathering but nearly there! This will be being posted to Canada for michealc to enjoy!

Nice. Do the electronics just bolt into the turret? I've considered getting one before but was never quite sure.

No you have to supply a recoil unit and elevation, I adapted one for servo recoil in this case!

With the 480s and the 20w per channel from the Clark I'm confident she should run well on grass!

I mean are the mounts already in the turret to place these on? As in its expecting you to use HL electronics and its just a case of screwing them in or do you have to build the mounts yourself?

You have to attack the recoil yourself, no holes or mounts. I found however a pair of cable ties worked well. Unfortunately I lost a part of the assembly so I've made something a but more substantial!
