Geese Apple....you are having a rough go with your smokers....if the burn went up your wires... that means the heat ran through the circuits... and it's probably not fixable
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... but once again you will have to replace it

I would recommend replacing it with one of these.

They seem to be more robust than the black ones. I use these in all of my tanks now.

Hi, Paul, I have a regular smoker in a Tiger 1 and Proportional smokers in a Panzer 4 and another Tiger 1, I do like the Proportional smoker but one is ever aware of how frail the H/L smokers are, so if the new one is both proportional and sturdier I would be interested in replacing the smokers I have. Thanks for the site address it always helps. shaun

Shaun if your using the smoker with the IBU2 you only need the basic one as the IBU2 adjust the power to make it proportional.

Thanks Ian I know about the facility in the IBU2 but I already had the proportional smokers before I bought your miracle and the old smoker in the other Tiger is sitting next to a TAIGEN 2.4 GHz board I put in last year, so that board will be staying, but if the new smokers that Paul has told us about are tougher than the original H/L ones I would consider changing them unless you can promise that the IBU2 is not only the best board on the market but can also fix HENG LONGs cheap and nasty smokers as well!!! :D shaun

Sorry didn't mean to teach you to suck eggs. Just had a few customers not realise it did that.

I tend to agree with the fragility of the Heng Long smokers....it's tricky to balance the fluid... when I install a new smoker... I usually take off the cover and check if the wick is saturated... if it isn't I make sure it is...then I dry out the reserve tank.... let the residual from the wick fill the reservoir :D

Hi Shaun,

Yep they do a proportional one too:

http://www.rctank.de/PROPORTIONAL-SMOKE ... EW-VERSION

Although the pages I have posted say that these are H/L they are actually have Taigen stamped on them. They have a less delicate element and do to me seem much more robust. They are still prone to overfilling, but I do find them much much more reliable. They are quieter than the black ones too which is a bonus.

I think the proportional board is the same as the H/L one you already have so you might be able to save yourself a few quid by buying the basic ones and using the proportional control boards you have. I think it should work.
