And I had trouble getting my 15year old Capri started every morning.
On a side note, does anyone fancy a tour of these ex Soviet war monuments (I'll bring my spanners.
Built to last
Re: Built to last
The article claims that tank was built in 1943 and retired in 1945, but it looks to me like an IS-3, which wasn't designed until 1945. It could even be a stripped-down T-10, but of that I'm not sure ...

Re: Built to last
I wasn't too bothered about the type of tank it is, I was just impressed by the fact that it is an old tank that has be stuck on a pedestal for 20 years and it still runs.
Re: Built to last
Those guys don't look like pranksters to me, either. Looks more like a concerted effort to get that thing running. It being videotaped to begin with also supports that, along with how much effort it took to actually get it started.
Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to see a piece of history like that revived, but if the article can't even get the years right, and calls those technicians 'pranksters', then I don't know how much faith we can place in their claim that the tank has been stationary for 20 years.
