This phenomenon doesn't seem to be unique to the RC tank market. In the past six or seven months, I have seen prices being asked for WW2 Military wireless equipment that is just as nuts. An American BC-611 walkie-talkie set could be had in fine working order a year and a half ago for $60.00 plus USF, and if it was especially minty or NOS, $100 was not unreasonable. Currently there are several non-minty units being flogged for between $500.00 and $900.00 USF.
Maybe these sellers figure if the world economy is collapsing they better try and get as much as possible from collectors, before the collectors all run out of money!
