The smoker should use pump action to push the smoke out the tubes, so a fan is not really required, but I've seen some customized smokers that use fans.

A fan on the RX18 is probably not required but won't hurt, I think it may depend on what you have going through it for power and potential for heat build up, not the expert there though. I have two RX18 Taigen tanks that came with fans and a Heng Long RX18 without a fan, no heat issues on the Heng Long yet. If you install a fan on the box that is around the RX18 you will need to cut slots into it for the air to escape through.

Applelover when you upgrade to a 2,4 GHz Taigen board (available from WDM and FORGEBEAR for about £60 including better speaker, complete wiring set and transmitter as well as board) the new board comes with a fitted fan, although I have never needed one on my 27MHz rx18 board. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hey Apple... I agree with Shaun and Bft...you don't really NEED a fan... it really doesn't do anything without having a heat sink connected... and even that is a stretch...what the fan will do is drain your battery faster lol... so really I wouldn't worry about such things

Happy TankingImage

I actually removed all my fans from the Taigen 2.4Ghz MFUs and used them on my smoker for the fan mod.......... :-)
