Flakpanzer Panther "Coelian" --Elmod/Beier--

Post by Graf Ralf Fies »

Hello modeling buddies ,

based on the drawings from Trojca 's "Panther Variants in Color" I want to start here with the construction of Coelian .

Image

They tried to construct a multiple anti-aircraft tank based on the Panthers. The design which has brought it the most , was the Coelian . He had 2x 37mm Flak 43 in a fully-armored turret. It was made ??with the wooden tower was a prototype based on a Panther D . Production should already begin in late '44 , but was continually delayed until they finally gave up the construction , as the firepower compared to the weight was too low.

Image

The Coelian , the engineer of the development department at Rheinmetall was Lieutenant von Glatz - Goetz and his third first name was Coelian , was developed in January 1944 and launched in March 1945 in Grimsby / Saxony. He was actually called device 554 and Coelian was the cover name .
Thus after the setting of the project of ball lightning is the only anti-aircraft tank . All other anti-aircraft guns were pure self-propelled guns , no anti-aircraft tank ( Whirlwind & Co.)
Who would like to see the Kugelblitzbaubericht times , here is a [url = ' http://mmodell.de/forum/index.php?page= ... eadID=3721 '] ??LINK [ / url ] !

Since it can be assumed that the tower would be been made ??, the G version would have put this I'm going to get my bearings in the above sketch.

If the plan .....

At the scheduled technology :

-11.1 Lipo
Charging sockets
opposite - RCC using a servo
Height Align Servo about including parallel Bewegeung Odometer
ElMod - Pro module
I vacillate between sound still Beier and ElMod Blaster
- Henntec chain tensioner
Impact gear ( let's see if that really are so loud ;))

The base is a Tamiya Panther G chassis and be the ProfLine conversion kit. Well Andrew, I finally begin to saw your former Panther * grin *
Unfortunately, the Panther has been so with some super glue or something "amplified" that I tried some swearing and snorting to solve any screws or parts. : eeeek :

The 37mm cannon from the kit were replaced with new ones.
Image

The diameter of the Turmauschnitts Tamiyaoberwanne is too large and has been reduced to the level of the kit is thought .
I have attached thereto a Polyplatte on the upper hull , made ??a narrow Polyring in the appropriate diameter, and then poured the gap with Stabelit . Even the holes in the tower rolls were completed.
After drying the Poylplatte was removed from the upper hull . Hardly what to fill and beautiful stable.
Image

The tower rolls have to be removed they would still be visible in the front tower reports .
Image

The tower now fits smacking . Time NEN few loose parts put together . Already looks quite nice ...
Image

Image

Image

The speaker was first scattered with a Visaton FRS7 .
Image

Still get the hub caps from Scale Fanatic :)
Image

Times over a short critical view of the tower :

Unfortunately, my blistered or holes
Image
not so bad , but still not nice. The plate collisions must be nachgraviert .

What annoys me more because , the fact is that the upper and lower roller shutter ( or whatever you would like to call it ) is missing on the hinged Geschuetzaufnahme simply .
Image

The Geschuetzaufnahmen already roughly ausgefraest and drilled the holes for the 37's in the visor.
The pipes are to move later on a sled .
Image

At the tail already begins with the conversion in inventory parts.
Image

So on it goes soon

update II

Like most of my models the Panthers tub was equipted with HennTEC Kettenpsanner
Image

Image

The hull front pieces were also attached
Image

just as the rear wall side panels
Image

The Impact gear I have send me directly from Mitosal from Singapore lassen.Knappe week delivery time : thumbup :
These were first provided with Tamiya motors. First test run : me ringing ears . The volume is enormous.
So the couple were disassembled , austr Taring tried something with washers and put back together. A little rumprobiert and enter with scouring left . The hike to the gears on the axles was less ...
Something quieter they have become. Fortunately, one moves the model so later only with appropriate soundscape . The speakers are about drown it out .....
Image

Image
With the speed I 'm now first satisfied .

Made yet to complete a small test drive
Image

A little bit of it went on the tower of the Coelian on.

The mantlet above created roughly
Image

Countersunk screw heads .....
Image
for the neodymium magnets of the tower top. This should be made ??quickly to disassemble for maintenance purposes .

The recoil built. Both pipes run in rails and moved by digital servos .
Image

Even though it is still a little tentative , the RCC works and runs smoothly in push-pull . Enough space for the swing area of 3.7 cm guns is also available. Unfortunately, the servos are a bit noisy. Metal gears . But they were too expensive as I she exchanges ;)
Currently I uebelege how I can make a change possible in order to let the fire bursts once syncron and run once against each other . The electrical system is not the problem, but the sound.
If a switch is still the shot noise would run out of push-pull ...
Image
Today the last adjustments , then shut and smoothed.

We continue next with the height straightening.

update III

It continues with the break down and cut up ...
Image
Image

Angle mirror and storage of WeCoHe made ??consistently
Image

and ... installed. Here is a micro-servo will later provide for the motion
Image

A new spring system is also installed .... drives well :)
Image

some progress on the tower there.

The MOUNTINGS for the two 37mm Flak 43 was completed and can now be closed and plastered.
Using a servo the carriage is directed in height. The attachment is far, however temporary. The servo is inserted.
About a hinge that attaches to the gun carriage is the distance meter with moving.

Image

So far, the entire mechanism has proven to be very reliable. . For maintenance purposes, except for the gun carriage, everything can be broken down quite expeditiously. There will be a few small adjustments to the velocities of the two RCC.
Basically I'm satisfied.

Once enough of the mechanics. For a change, I did a little detail work and soldered some parts .

Image

Image

The storage boxes are to me almost too precious to dent a bit ...... but why do you build it otherwise brass ....
First of all, they remain undamaged. The BUT - Etched set has brought me real fun, very well thought out . With some time to get everything working perfectly soldered together .
Image

A few more parts for the rear 's .
Image

Currently I 'm building around a bit messed up .... depending on how fancy did ;) Something coarse --- something fine .

My wheels on Asiatam are also arrived .... just cleaned and degreased for the primer . The gums do I edit just a little with sandpaper and screwdriver .... The axles are unfortunately too long and had to be eingekuerzt sämtlichst .
But the hub of Scale Fanatic fit it for 1a . :)
Image

a little progress there was in the front fenders and side panels.
Image

Image

Since the tower is so far finished, I did a little swinging the air brush for the whole thing to take a bit of the construction site flair. In addition, it must be painted anyway in the carriage before I put it together .
Once in Hullred and after a little preshading :

Image
( kinda reminds me always to Warhammer 40k : D)
Image

The tub is also so far ... the storage boxes now koönnen also be attached.
Image

For the later color / finish there from the German Late War Camouflage Colours Set the color green as Resada ...
Image

..... easy time to get a picture for me.
Image

The preshading is further attenuated if the further camouflage is applied .

Image

Only one thing is certain : a completely tattered vehicle and lately so popular version with the tub or the tower in Rostschutzrot there will not be with me.

Next up is "only" the site upper hull . Attachments tool holder etc. ...

I built a little bit sporadic at my Coelian on.

Here is an angled mirror
Image

And with insertion (I did not quite reingeschoben is otherwise a bit difficult to paint expand )
Image

Starting with some additional parts and tool holders ....
Image

I have also taken the time to build the door for the fire support mobile ....
Image

immensely relaxing .....
Image

Image

Time consuming , ABER- set is to build in later ... but very beautiful to look at.

Welcome Graf.

This is very exciting and amazing detail - although (like your avatar) a little scary..!

Shame we cannot see all of your photos - I do not think the site can take more than 10 for each post.

Referee - can you give some help here?

Image

The slats : Unfortunately, I can not get the stupid Flügelschrauben photographed . Since I have so unsoldered me a case .... and then I get the not even on
Image
......... can be opened also . Have the guys made ??of ABER great!
Image

The floor jack is still under construction ....
Image

BUT angle mirror with acrylic gas inserts

The block of wood is again made ??new ...

What a so happens the pipes ..... at half-track need not only to keep as far as before . :)
