Another use for a PIN VISE.

When I have to use really small screws, I find the big problem is getting the screw started in the thread, I have found that in many cases a MAGNETIC screwdriver is the answer but sometimes it will not do the job that is when I place the head of the screw in the PIN VISE and tighten the screw into place, just before the screw is home slacken the PIN VISE and finish tightening with a screwdriver. It has saved me from grovelling under the bench searching for the invisible more times than I care to think of, as yet again the screw spins out of my fingers. shaun

Some nice lateral thinking there shaun! I think even with larger screws in hard to reach places could be assisted with this method.

I use either jeweler's screwdrivers.. or a Micro Driver...that has the same spinner on the top as a pin vise...it has interchangable magnetic heads... so just a tad better than a pin vise.... Personally I don't care to use my pin vise for obtuse fitting bits... as they can ruin your mandrels making it impossible to grip smaller drill bits

Which interestingly enough... is actually cheaper than a pin vise... unless of course you got the pin vise from Ebay
