NiCad = NiMh ???

Post by mangaroca »

Urgent help required (or they will close the store and I will not get it today... :) )!

Can I use a NiMh 7.2V battery in Tamiya King Tiger instead of the NiCad 7.2V one? The latter is mentioned in the manual but the store I contacted said they were substituted by the NiMh...

Please, assist!

Slightly longer answer, nimh are vastly superior to the old nicads. But in general as long as its the right voltage you can use any sort of battery. If your using lipos then you have to take additional measures like low voltage alarms/cut offs to avoid damaging the batteries.

Thank you for your answers. I rushed to the store, bought the battery and only realised that I have no mean of charging it after I got back.... The battery has a so called "Tamiya" plug and I'm having issues finding the charger for it. Do you think I can get one of those in Antics or Maplin?
