I have two of em (one is mcevois!). They need some serious work to get them running well but it's definitely worth it! Nice models and look ace when done. Where have you found one to buy?

Re: rc hooben elephant
Ahh that's the static one. I might be able to help you out, I have a spare pair of the gearboxes. What sort of electronics you looking to use?
Re: rc hooben elephant
this is were I don't want to show my self up ,so the rc side not sure at all, taigen 5 ? but after spending that large some was hoping to use what I had in my box ?
Re: rc hooben elephant
If you've got the almost ready to run kit then you'll have to add electronics. The reason I ask is the kit Dave had on eBay was the static version without gearboxes, elevation etc.
Re: rc hooben elephant
if we can get it running that will be a big first step, turret will be the second was wondering if some low ratio hl gears to get me started that's why was wondering about taigen 5 electrics this is were advise is appreciated tom wot wot
Re: rc hooben elephant
Hey canned, regarding transmissions its either hooben or tamiya I'm afraid. The reason is the final drive axles are in two pieces with the outer bit attached with a couple of grub screws. The inner but of the shaft will fit a tamiya gearbox perfectly but not anything else. I'm not sure if I can make the meet a week Sunday but if I can I'll show you what I mean. I've not seen how the drive sprockets attach on the static kit, will be interesting to see! Regarding electronics I would say Clark or ibu2.
