Just made a turret controller from an old servo

I got this idea from another RC forum;
have just made an effective turret rotation speed controller from an old cheap servo.
What i did was to dismantle the servo and discard the gears and motor. I then soldered a connector to the motor wires and then connected the servo's receiver lead to my receiver and then connected the turret motor to the connector I had fitted to the motor wires. When powered up the motor will rotate so the next thing to do is to adjust the servo's pot so the motor ceases to rotate and you should now have fully proportional control of the turret in both directions. What i then did was to refit the circuit board and pot back into the servo case (it makes a neat enclosure) and that was it - it works well, One free speed controller.
