HL King Tiger-How do i get the caps for the road wheels off?

Post by Marc780 »

I had little problem getting the caps off the upper set of road wheels; which you have to do to get to the allen bolt to remove the wheel...just pry against the wheel. BUT with the KT, that still leaves the inner set of road wheels to be done. The caps on these are dang near impossible to get off! and there is NOTHING to pry against. I tried wrapping the cap with rubber band and using vice grips, that didn't work, i'm starting to think there's no way to get them off with out drilling them out and buying new caps, if i can even find them!

The outer road wheels are off...the caps at the top are what have me stumped! What is the secret to getting these caps off?

Hi Marc, mine came off by grabbing with fingers and twisting the cap, while holding the wheel at the same time (sometimes helps to turn the wheel the opposite way to the cap (they aren't threaded).

They have a quite deep insert from the wheel, and can be tight.

assuming of course heng long haven't glued them in
