HL Sherman and Mato metal road wheel assembly

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

Has anyone attempted this ? I have a HL Sherman and just received a set of Mato Sherman metal road boggies from Forge Bear....... My initial thought was to create the opening on the HL Lower hull and slot the wheel assembly in, but on second look realized that it will create some issues inside, especially with the gearset. So current thought is to cut off the mount on the wheel assembly itself and literally just "glue" it onto the lower hull. Cutting the metal mount would be a big job and the "glue-ing" will have to be precise.

Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hi Have fitted them to a Mato hull ,the clips that hold them in will fit passed the gearboxes (they do on the Mato ) Have a Heng Long Sherman the hulls are about the same thickness so the clips should work .

Thanks guys........pete, mine didn't come with any clips for the inside, just the assembly and the plate for the lower hull. I guess they assume you would use your Mato parts and not trying some crazy ass move like fitting it to a HL hull.....fynsdad, I didn't think about just using the bogies but the Mato suspension is much nicer so I would like to keep the whole thing......Canned, spot on you mean the cut and glue scenario, right ?
