It arrived only 4 days after i ordered it. I guess i will start a blog, this being the first post! My plans are, at first, just change to the steel gearbox, steel idler gears, and steel drive sprocket. The parts on the way. Maybe add track tensioner, the henntech is pricey though, might make some myself.

-Ball bearings in the idler gear and the drive sprocket-to support the drive sprocket especially. Undecided exactly how i will do this yet.

=Repaint the tank mid to late 1944 scheme, with dunkelgelb base and the usual red brown and green airbrushed in the ambush pattern. Still undecided about zimmerit, i might just forego that. If i decide to go with it i will put it on myself, no zimmerit kit...PRICEY.

The object of this to me, is to get the best tank for the least money over all.
The battery is still charging for another 3 hours - the internet says 4 hours 15 minutes, and to use a so all i've done so far is admire it...this is my HL King tiger, there are many like it but this one is mine  will have to wait to try it out!

This is the instructions to charge:

"Before you can run your Heng Long Tank, you need to first fully charge the 7.2V rechargeable battery with the basic charger. Both are included with the tank. The charger is 400mA. Therefore for a 1700mAh battery, charge it for 4 hours 15 minutes (1700/400) for a full charge. For a 2000mAh, charge it for 5 hours.

With the Ni-Cd battery, it is best to run it down until it is exhausted before recharging again. Use a discharger if you have one to discharge the battery before recharging. This is to avoid the 'memory effect' where left over charge accumulates to degrade the battery's ability to hold its charge and therefore reduce its lifespan. This does not apply to the Ni-Mh battery, you can top up the charge whenever you like with minimal affect on battery life."

Yeaaaaaaaay. I can't believe you are not done yet. :) Have fun with it. I have the Henntech in my Panther/Ersatz/M10. It is a nice assembly and works great with the metal track. I can see where it is worth the money, if it were to be an issue of time. I look forward to progress. Carry on!!

Battery still charging, another half hour to go. The charger on the wall is so hot i had to put a fan pointed at it. The wifey thinks the tank is cute, and she immediately started playing with the commander figure like some kind of goose stepping barbie doll of sorts (those are her goofy stuffed animals in the back-she has her toys i have mine.)

Waiting on the paint, the gearbox and gears...the wheels are stiff and turn hard! Going to put some silicone divers grease-that i have from using on my PCP airgun and Hill pump- on those (it wont eat the plastic unlike regular grease)

If you have the pennies, the Torro metal lower hull is a good investment. I have one and it is solid. With everything on the lower half metal, mine clocks in at 18 pounds.

Here is the thread I made during mine. There are some photos that might, or might not, prove helpful
