Applelover Hi, Crystals come in pairs, so if you have an 01 crystal in your transmitter then you must have an 01 crystal in your receiver, now what you will find in practical use, most transmitter/receiver set ups are in the 01, 02, combination, so if you want to avoid conflict with other r/c tank drivers I would suggest going for the higher numbers, so 09 in your transmitter and 09 in your receiver or 10 in your transmitter and 10 in your receiver that way you are less likely to be driving someone else's tank, but the important thing is to never put different number crystals in your transmitter from your receiver, hope that helps, of course if you decide to change from 27 MHz and go to 2.4 GHz you will not use crystals instead you get an almost limitless frequency range so conflict is almost unheard of. Good luck. shaun

Not as long as both of the crystals match, all this means is how broad the frequency spectrum is. if both your crystals are 27.145, that is good as it is if both crystals are 27.195 or both are 27.095, the only thing to know is whether the crystal in the transmitter is the same as the crystal in the receiver, if they are the same that is GOOD if they are different that is BAD! shaun
