Re: Starting my tank up
Welcome to the forum Applelover.
You do indeed need crystals for the RX18 type receiver board and transmitter. You can buy the crystals from Forgebear on e-bay, howes models of oxford to name but a few. There are several threads on this forum with RX18 wiring discussions and wiring diagrams.

Re: Starting my tank up
Hallo Applelover, I assume that you know that the only transmitter that will work with an RX18 board is a Heng Long analogue 27hz and whatever crystal is fitted to that is what you must fit in the Tank to receive the signal from the transmitter, the front of the Heng Long transmitter has a box on the front right bottom, on the front of that box should be a white label with two numbers, that is the number of the crystal in the transmitter and that is what you need for your receiver. I of course do not know what your budget is but if you have approximately £80 if you contact www.welshdragonmodels.com you can buy a 2.4 GHz digital complete system including loudspeaker, wiring control board and transmitter with full instructions, that will set you back £59 the rest will get you a smoker from FORGEBEAR, to find him google the name and it will take you there. if you do all that you will have a Tank as good as any out there and superior in my opinion to the old analogue rx18 system. welcome to the forum, do please read the BLACKLIST and avoid those names at all costs but the RECOMMENDED VENDORS site will save you money and heartache. have fun and keep asking the questions.shaun

Re: Starting my tank up
Hallo again, You appear to have a complete Heng Long Tiger 1 hull, it seems ok but you would need to show the upper hull and turret both external and internally, I would suggest you look at some of the Tiger 1 builds on the Heng Long builds site on the forum, you will find a lot of helpful photographs showing all views of the tank layout which you can use to compare with your Tiger 1. Good luck. shaun
