What's that coming over the hill?!

I've been naughty, but it was far to go a deal to pass up. Metal lower hill, metal wheels, taigen kv 2 conversion, metal stowage bins and loads of tamiya sprues. I won't tell you want I paid :D

Tom,
Great find! I'll be watching this to see what you do with it. ;o) It'll be extended research for me, my friend. Don't be shy with the price, neither Alpha nor myself bought full house Tamiya versions nor the Top Drawer Torro offering. Allow us to be happy for your good fortune. *bows*

Tom,
That _is_ a great deal! If it is the all metal lower hull for a KV by Taigen, you get it open this way: Look on the bottom and you will see a small rectangular opening with a slider in it. Move the slider to the other side of the opening to pop the upper hull loose. If there is resistance (wires crammed inside) hold the top and bottom a little closer together with one hand while you slide the tab with your other. ;o) It is a solid looking tank with much work done already and you will make a great KV-2 out of it, I know.

Hey painless, it is the taigen metal lower. Looks like its been modified with Allen headed bolts securing it. Yeah Antony's done a fab job so far. I look forward to getting on with this, gotta finish the sturm first!

Tom,
Here is a quick vid I found from IMEX demonstrating the full metal KV-1 which has the same lower hull as yours. Look and see the differences between yours and this one's lower hull and that should help get it apart. I'm already watching your Sturm and will keep an eye open for posts on this one.

Son of a Gun Tom... that's a great buy.... what you paid is what the sell the hull without wheels for 8O ....Lucky it has the Captured turret... so I'm not so jealous lol
It'll be a good build to watch... as all of yours are

It shouldn't be too bad to back date it to a Russian version, I do fancy a break from German camo. The captured one does look rather nice though. Choices choices! I will be good this time and finish the sturm at least first!

Oh no no Tom... you must stick with the captured version...as I might acquire the eye of wanting if you didn't :haha: :haha: .............. ;)

Actually either way makes for an awesome tank...I think it would boil down to having stowage on it or not... for some reason the Soviets didn't carry too much where the Germans loaded as much supplies as possible...it's part of the intrigue ... how the two countries viewed battlefield tactics :D
