Hi lads....a question for the electronics techies out there.....
I don't mind that all my tanks have the same engine sound cos when they are all running round the garden together and the grandchildren are shouting and hollering, you cant tell one from another anyway. What realy annoys me is that I can't hear ther cannon or m/gun for the engine volume.
I am building two tanks for myself with El-mod, so grandad will rule supreme....but I am considering this.......
I saw a small, battery powered, pre-built amplifier about the size of a box of matches in Maplin and it got me wondering....
If I turn down the sound volume on the HL tank, I get engine, cannon and machine gun all at the same volume.
If I connect the RX14 sound output to this mini amp input, I should get all three sounds at the same volume.....but LOUDER guns.
So.....will the turned down HL sound output be too much for the Maplin amp - input .........
There you go....my blonde moment
If you techies recon it's worth a go, I have a spare RX13 card so I will buy the amp and give it a go.....but if it's a non starter I won't risk the RX13 or waste me dosh.
Just a thought chaps.....praps a daft one.....but possibly a cheap option for louder sounds eh?
.......Mike...........not so much blonde but very very grey

Re: HL sounds
hi mike
i'm not an electronics whizz, but i know a little about stereo, it is do able, but you cant just wire it like you you suggested, what you need is a little bit of kit called a pre-out, it converts the speaker signal, to a pre-amplified signal, which a amp's input needs, you should be able to get them from any car stereo shop. if you just wired the speaker output staight to an amp's input it would probably blow the amp. i hope this helps

Hi Tony....thanks a lot for the info.
I will have a look during the week and hopefully have a go at "the very poor man's El-mod".
It's amazing just how many "tank" things I have on the go at the moment.... always in trouble with the boss
Thanks again..........Mike
