Greetings from South Florida

Post by tweeder505 »

Hello everyone, I just got my first 2 tanks, both HL an M41A3 and an M26 (which I plan to convert to an M46). The tank bug bit me when my 2 best friends got into planes. I got a trainer plane which has crashed MANY times (hobby zone Duet is a great trainer) & realized that Armor was more my thing (spent a few years as a US Army Mechanized Infantryman). So after chasing the dog through the house (she loves to run from then chase after my tanks) I'm hooked. I look forward to everyones input and ideas.
Happy Tanking,
Jay

Good Afternoon, Jay,
Welcome to the Forum! There is a huge amount of knowledge and knowledgeable sorts here for a helpful assist or a tip and a trick with scale (and real) armor. Please post photos of your builds as we love to walk around and kick the virtual road wheels while we chat.
regards,

Welcome to the madness.
I am still flying...and crashing. :) Now if I could only get these tanks to shoot my planes out of the air.

Hallo Jay, welcome to the Forum, a couple of things, we will be pleased to offer all the help you can handle but this is very much an interactive site so anything you know tell us please, the other thing, oh yes, if you scroll down to the Heng Long Builds you will discover a Super Pershing build by Palepainter we have all admired and learnt from, I heartily recommend it as a source of reference when you are working on your M26. I don't know what is in the water in Colorado but they do seem to produce some great Tank builders there, we are just taking in Painlesses Sherman, I would advise you have a look at that as well . Whatever, please enjoy it here. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys! Quick question, is there a LiPo upgrade for the HL Tanks?

Hello Tweeder...Welcome to the board... and yes I use lipos in all my HENG LONGs once they are off the work bench...the only thing you need is an big to small conversion cord..as most lipos have small Tamiya connectors... I use a 7.4 ...which has gobs of power and longevity when in use

Enjoy the adventure
