quick release turrets

Post by jarndice »

When I wanted to remove the molded on tools on my Torro/ Heng Long Tiger 1 the turret was covering most of them, but to remove the turret meant disconnecting two wires leading from the turret ( all the other wires coming out of the turret are on two plugs already!!!! I came on the forum for help and of course instantly BLIMP came to my aid with this address- http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/jst-xh-connector
and there I found what I wanted, A Prewired Plug, A Connector, And Another Prewired Plug, they all fit together and the plug is a proper fit for the RX18, I cut the wires in the turret and soldered the ends to the wires coming out of my new plug and job done, all I have to do now is unscrew the turret ring and disconnect three plugs and the turret is free. It was a speedy delivery and paying by PAYPAL meant if there was a problem I could get my money back although they were so cheap I am not sure I would have bothered, these prewired plugs are available from 2 pin through to 8 pin and come in a pack of 10, and as I said before they fit the RX18 and the new Heng Long 2.4 board. By the way I found the prewired plugs came with more than enough wire to go straight from the turret to the RX18 without using the connector and the extending plug and wires. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Good morning, Jarndice,
This is very cool! Plugs like this will be very useful to guys who mod the turrets with extra lighting and features.
Regards,
Painless

i found a pack of 20 pairs of these leads when i last visited Howes Models late last year.
They work very well, and fit my existing Tamiya Elevation and Traverse systems.

Very handy
