HL Bulldog tracks/gearbox update

Post by bfrank1982 »

Hi guys.

I'm thinking about putting on metal tracks.
But will that mean, I have to put in a New 4:1 gearbox also?

And what about the motors? Will they have to be updated as Well?

Don't know about a bulldog but from experience the 4:1 gearboxes are a lot better, just bought some taigen gearboxes off forgegear and fitted them into an old tiger i have with a lot of metal parts on it and it's 500% better

regards Jack.

IMHO.. no need to change the gearboxes... just lube them.... what you do want to change out are the drive sprockets and idlers.as the metal tracks will wear on those ...I would opt for something better than stock HENG LONG tracks....not that they are bad...it's just on some tanks they are just too tight... making it necessary to find tensioners... so if you can get aftermarket Mato or Taigen tracks..as they have spare links for adjustment :D
