Tow cable clamps.

Post by jarndice »

Mr lazyness reporting, I wanted to make my tow rope clamps look authentic so I looked at the many Tiger 1 builds for help, I was horrified at what it entailed, to Dave Forgebear's site on E-BAY, A packet of MATO metal buckles (large) I put a thread on the shaft of the clamp then filed off the short stub opposite the shaft, into the vise and with a micro saw made a slot which I broadened with a small drapers file just deep enough for the shaft of a Schumo butterfly nut to fit, pin vise a hole into the hull and with a smear of threadlock screwed a nut onto the shaft, slide the tow rope in place then pin vise a hole for the shaft of the Shumo butterfly nut, making sure it fits snugly into the slot in the clamp, a dab of superglue and job done. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
