volume switch

hl all do anybody known the oms rating on the volume potentiometer as im sick of the cheap nasty thing any help appreciated, oh an one other thing anybody know if you can change the bulb on the high intensity flash unit or a replacement to it thanks ,,, Ray .

Last few I've measure have been 50k ohm, but I use 10k Ohm which works just as well.

Flash bulb I have changed like for like just cut the 3 wires and solder and heat shrink. I wouldn't go near the actual bulb too fragile.

thanks for the info , you say you change the bulb like for like ,,,, but what is it were do you get a replacement from ''?' is it ripped out of a camera '? ian im not totally dum but i got two flash units with blown bulbs you make it sound easy , regard's Ray

Hi Ray,

I had two faulty flash units. One bulb other electronics so I took working parts from both and put together. Dont know what detail the bulb is, sorry.

thanks ian for your help ' im presuming the bulbs have blown in my units an that it not something in the unit itself , will try what you say an swap bulbs first an if that fruitless , go deeper. i looked everywhere to find a actual bulb but only ones i see are 12v for car application , i ordered some potentiometers so going to be busy few days thanks agin an watch this space regard 's Ray
