Heng Long Sherman

Post by cupoftea »

Not sure if another Sherman build will be of interest to anyone but here goes;

This is most likely not going to be a spectacular build because my skills are somewhat lacking.

My aim is to make the Sherman look a little more presentable and give it a decent control system.

Here it is in its original state;

So far i have removed the molded on handles and fitted some bent paper clips instead, tools have been painted:

The control system details are here;viewtopic.php?f=81&t=11765

Thank you Sir

There is just something about a Sherman..............
Hardest job so far has been the control system which has ended up as a hybrid system similar to the one in my tiger. Gun elevation is by servo and turret rotation is by a separate speed control. Muzzle flash is an LED. As my hybrid system uses an RC5hl 'translator' from the excellent RC tanks Australia i am going to buy one of their mako2 boards so I can have a battle system and can then have tank battles with my grandson.

Good Evening,
It's always good to see another Sherman Build taking place. With the Mato, Heng Long and Tamiya Sherman all out and in production, there's never been a better time to build any number of varieties of the vehicle. ;o) There are kit pieces, electronics and sprues galore to make a truly amazing Build. Please keep the pictures coming!
regards,

Good Afternoon,
Very nicely done! I like the way you secured your platform for the switch to the existing rotation ring. Really saves space and keeps wiring out of the way. ;o)
