Hello all, I'm waiting for a delivery from immortal hobbies, I'm upgrading the internal board on my taigen tiger to the Clark board, I'm also upgrading to a new speaker and super smoker at the same time, now my turret is the I/r kind and I want to upgrade it to servo recoil and elevation (I've ordered 2x micro servos to use for it) but I have no idea how to do this, are there any guides or pictures anyone can help me with? I have searched the forum but can't find any detailed guided, thanks for the help

I've not read this guide but only quickly looked it over

http://www.clark-model.com/eng/index_e.html

Also, about half way down page shows how to add servo recoil

Thanks Ian, thats a great start, I had seen that on the clark site but what I was really looking for is any pics of how people have both recoil and elevation mounted, I'm really new to this rc malarky and I want a good idea what to do before I start hacking it apart

I see if I've got any pictures of my recoil conversion.

Here you go

What I did was get a Heng Long recoil unit, cut the bottom half off and binned the gears and motor etc. Then glued servo to the side. I found I had to reverse the servo setting on the clark to make it work correctly.

I am also finding that you get more recoil travel using the HL BB frame rather than the stock IR recoil frame. You can get 10mm-15mm travel from the HL Recoil frame but with the right servo I have managed to get 20 mm travel with the BB frame. Same idea as in Ian's picture, just gut the sucker and keep the "piston" to mount the barrel. I have also shorten the "piston" on both the IR recoil and the BB unit just to get more travel out of them.

Also, I was going to put in servo elevation on my last project but didn't end up doing it. With the Clark rewiring you have independent control of elevation already with the stock hardware so ripping all that stuff out for a servo elevation doing basically the same thing is not quite worth it IMHO.
