Another T55
Well I finally found and ordered an unbuilt T55 kit. It was listed as a "Silver" kit with metal upgrades and 6 channel transmitter. I will post the build here and see where it takes me. I was hoping for a static kit, but could not find one. I paid $553 shipped for this one with all electronics and "upgrades". Wish me luck

As I wait for delivery, what upgrades are needed for this beast? I was thinking of some 4mm aluminum for the lower hull to add some strength as well as metal track for weight. I want to add bearings to everything too and have already found several helpful posts on that upgrade.
Another thought to ponder, what markings should I use? I have a Tamiya Leo 2 that will be done in Canadian colors as those deployed to Afghanistan, but I am also building several IDF tanks too.

The kit arrived and is amazing. The o my issue I found d is the CPU / Multifunction Unit was burned crispy on one corner with obvious signs of electrical shorting and toasting. I contacted the seller to see about getting it replaced but don't now what will come of that.

The seller, DreamWorks on EBay, has been wonderful. He has had great communication and already emailed me saying he will get this resolved with Hooben.
I did start on the lower hull and while I do not have any pics, there are a ton of screws to install.

OK, the seller gave me a $100 refund for the bad board and said the supplier has noore T55 left because I got the last one. That being said, what would be a good option.....TK22, Tamiya KV-1, or some other electronics controller?

Guess that explains why it was the last one!
Absolutely, go with the Clark. For the price and ease of conversion it is awesome. I have 8 conversions done and I know a guy who has the T55. Not sure where you are but you can try Immortal Hobbies here in Canada. Good prices and good service...
