Hi Everyone .... Noob here, be gentle

Post by grahambrockie »

Hi,
My name is Graham, I have been into the RC scene for a long, long, long time ..... I remember Tamiya, when they first hit the scene (nuff said eh?)
I am into Crawlers, and Short course, and my toys have varied over the last few years,
At present I have an HPI Apache SC 1/8th, which I love to bits...... spend more time cleaning it than running it nowadays .... roll on the summer, I also have a heavily modified Axial Wraith and it just loves this weather, opposite sides of the coin really, but it fills the year.

This is my first venture into the land of Tanks, and I have just bought one for myself, with plans for getting one for my boy, once he see's this, he "will" want one. The one I bought was not brand new, for one reason only. .. . I want to use it, its a mk1 tiger tank in desert camo ... so its ready to roll.

I will post pictures eventually, but I will be picking your brains on the best things to do with it.

thanks for inviting me in ...... i plan to stay a while

Hi Graham & welcome to the forum.
You didn't say which part of the world you come from but if
It's Blighty
My advice to you is to get out there & drive it round before winter sets in! :haha:
Plenty of time to tinker later ;)

If I might add to what Painless Wolf said... don't be a stranger Graham... many newbies introduce themselves then disappear...by replying to something... you bring issues that may have been forgotten or missed... back into view

Hi Graham,

welcome and enjoy this forum, it's a big pool of ideas and helpful hints from all over the world.
What has Shaun wrote, cuddly? :) I'm not particularly cuddly, but if I can, I'll try to help you out.

Sorry I never mentioned it, I come from Aberdeenshire where the hills are tall and slippery ..... and the fields are always soaking wet ......

Bit of a let down to be honest, my tank arrived today, and I sent it straight back to the guy .... looked like it had been hit with a crayola colour pallet, and bits and pieces broken ..... not what the advert on ebay said, but the guy was honest enough to take it back.

So I am in the market for another one now ....... anyone out there selling?

Hallo Graham sorry to hear about the problem with your tank, I have no idea how much you were spending but HOWES MODELS ( GOOGLE that name and you will get to their site) are selling 1/16 Tiger1 from Heng Long new for £45 on offer, Howes are a trusted toy shop in Oxfordshire they also have a website, If you do not want a Tiger they have a Bulldog for £60. good luck. shaun
