Newbie from the Mile High City.

Post by MetalHead »

Greetings from the Mile High City of Denver, CO.

I am very new to the RC tank hobby and I look forward to learning from all the acquired knowledge on this site. I have recently received my first 1:16 HL King Tiger tank and will soon be getting an 1:16 HL Panther as well. I hope to obtain a Tamiya Pershing this fall. (Hinting to the family for Christmas!) I am currently preparing to customize both my tanks with a new paint job and electronics and hope to post pictures of the completed project when I can. I will try not to botch things up with your sage wisdom and advice. ;)

Thank you all in advance for your expertise and knowledge!

Here's to the start of a new and exciting hobby!

Welcome to the forum Josh,

Its sounds like your going to have full stables worth of tanks. Enjoy the custom work on your tanks, personally I believe it is the best part. Any issues, feel free to ask as there is a ton of knowledge here. Before you start working on your tanks, check out the Recommended Vendors and the individuals who have been Black listed, it will save you money in the end. Enjoy dude, this is a rewarding hobby...

Hi Josh, Every thing that Derek says I echo, as to being afraid to mess up your build, why old friend it is what we do best. It is never so bad that it cannot be fixed with some filler, a spray of primer and of course something that was invented for our hobby SWEARING. Good luck and please ask lots of questions because the forum loves to show off, shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Welcome Josh! Have fun looking at all the rebuilds on here! It makes me dizzy and my head hurts after a while. There are guys on here who should be working for museums. At the other end there are some electronic wizards on here too that have made life for this newbie a little easier too!
It is a friggin lot of fun! :D

Wlcome to the forum Josh....

Now let us prepare you for some future scenarios being an Rc Tanker..........

Wife says " How much did those little tank parts cost !! !... you say " Not as much as your shoes in the closet darling "
Wife Says " Do you have to create that smell of paint in the house ? " ...you say " Yes its just like your nail polish darling "
Wife says " Are you coming to bed sweetheart ".... you say in a minute darling " ( Actually means 3 hours later )
Wife Says " How much money have you spent on those toy tanks ? "...... you say " ..... absolutly Nothing... remain silent, plead the 5th ammendment !

Good luck Dude
