Main gun sound effect

Post by cupoftea »

This may not be possible but........................

What i would like to do is to add main gun only sound to an old non smoke and sound tiger 1 (RX 13). I don't want engine sound effects or machine gun but would like nice 'bang' to mark the event of the main gun firing. I have trolled through google and e-bay but can't find a device that will play a sound effect when a switch is triggered. I am not too fussed if it has a nice pre-recorded bang or if I have to load my own sound. I would rather not change the RX13 because i like the fact that it does not have track recoil.

I would be really appreciative if anyone knows of such a device.

Have you thought about just getting an RX-18 board and hooking your motors to the 13 and the rest to the 18 and then you won't have issues with the track recoil. There are a couple of threads on the site here of how to do it... :D

With my DBC I got a cheap sound card which does machine gun, main gun, hit and death sounds. Simply picks up the negative trigger signal and you can put all your own sounds on.

And here's a video of in installed in my T34 with the DBC3 and RX18

Thanks for the advice Sirs

In the end I decided to go for a complete re-wire and twin RX18's to overcome the track recoil.
