what batteries to run in the DUKW

Post by lliw180 »

Hi All some you you may have reed my post on the dukw build this is related to that i would like idears on what batteries to run. I will need enough power to run 1 330 motor 1 130 motor and 1 230 motor 1 servo and elctonic speed control and the radio. the orginal plan was to run 5 9v batteries how ever someone in a hobbie shop said thats not realy a good idear because i wont get much amps an comparison to volts. witch will effect run time he then went on to say run it of a 12v system witch is bigger than the model lol then he sagested run it if a 7.2 v what batterie back witch i think is to heavy.

what i have come up with is eather A try the 9v idear and see what happens and if that dose work to well B ill get the 7.2v but cut it up and postion the individual batteries around the hull.

The front of the dukw is solid wood so i could drill that out and have 2 in there 2 next to the prop tunel 2 above the wheel arches and 2 where the 9v were going to go. Make them permintly mounted conect them to one maine terminal with and isolatin swich from the stuff it powers and conect it to the chager when charging

or somthing like that

gotta love scratch building
scratch building is more fun
