I must have been 16 When I was training as a vehicle mechanic in the village of Bovingdon in southern England, at that time the RAF had a base at Bovingdon although the USAF were the actual users, The film 633 Squadron was being filmed there and during breaks we would sit outside watching DH Mosquitoes and a lone ME 108 ( no 109s to be found)fly over, about that time John Glens Mercury Capsule was flown into Bovingdon for exhibition at the Science Musuem and we all watched as it was driven past on a low loader. And of course the Sun shone everyday Fond memories. shaun
