Hello there folks,
Very new to this RC tank business. Originally tried more in the small RC helicopters but found I crashed more times than Windows! So I decided whilst flogging stuff on ebay that I'd purchase a tank on a whim after selling a Sony PSP Vita...and that gave me enough money to buy another so I'm the proud owner of a Heng Long Bulldog and Snow Leopard...(hmm I was expecting the Tamiya crowd to snigger at me..I seen the comments on other forums).
I can flog more stuff there is potential for a JadgPanther or perhaps the ubiquitous Tiger.
Several year ago I did model a lot of 1/76 stuff but now I wear glasses so it gets annoying as I refuse to use a magnifying glass. 1/16 therefore suits me..shame then that I have a step father whom has an N-gauge railways and gets me to do the fiddly stuff!
There we go me in a nutshell, and when I'm not playing with this stuff I'll be doing my other hobby as an amateur story writer
See ya
Steve C
Just one more thing..anyone got any good ideas about modding the Pershing's gun barrel..I heard a rumour it was a bit on the stumpy side.

There is a kit out there somewhere that will extend the barrel, similar to the Tiger I one (Basically you saw off the existing one and add a section to it. I bought the kit, didn't like the look but instead switch to a single large pipe. I can't rememebr the size, but because the stock barrel muzzle brake is attached to the barrel itself, I just pick a thin alum pipe that will allow me to insert the old barrel into it. Since I can do whatever length I want, I used the Super Pershing measurement, the one off with the T-15 90mm gun barrel.
Obviously none of this will work if you need to keep the BB. I have to enlarge the gun mantel as well, but I kept the recoil using the old metal barrel insert attached to the new barrel (The old barrel has the plastic outer which the muzzle brake is part of, and then the metal barrel which is for the BB).

Hey thanks for that..I was looking at doing a recoil and had found that article..the next question was which recoil unit was that...
Very green to this but a quick learner!

Hi Scoopey ,
Welcome to the Forum
From following the link ..The recoil unit is a standard Heng Long unit....and it looks identical to this one currently on Ebay...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Henglong-tank ... 5ae36d6c3d
Item number.....390362655805
According to the seller it is the unit also used in the Panther and JagdPanther, so hopefully you can pick one of those up and do the 'conversion' yourself using the metal tube and the skills from the "N-gauge" railway work...

Welcome, As to the size and the manufacturing company, well anyone can have an opinion, few a really unique work starting from the bottom and surpassing the top. Considering the TOP BRAND remains a matter of opinion as well as the work.
Just enjoy what your doing, and meet your goals.Perhaps we can help along the way.
As to your other hobby writing, do you prefer fiction,non-fiction? History or some other subject? As here History has certainly been told from many views, perhaps your work may find a place here as well.
Why American Tanks might I ask? Curious as most lean toward the German Panther or Tiger as the starting point of their Hobby adventure?
Enjoy,Saxondog

Fiction writing, Sci-Fi...I got a book out there already "Last of the Ranger I-III" available at Amazon...nobody noticed that quick advert did they?
It embraces by 3D art passion but one occasionally need to escape the virtual world...
Good question...why American..I'd have done British but Heng Long did not do any..be great if they had a crusader or even the more modern Scorpion. Choosing American was the nearest I could get to the allies!
However if a couple of ebay deals go in the right direction I'm looking at a Tiger or a Jadgpanther and then I got to start modding them!

Hi Scoopey,
This is meant as a joke.......

It embraces by 3D art passion ....it should read
MY 3D art Passion.......I hope that your books are 'Proof-Read' before they are published....

...
That is the
Joke part...by the way........
.
And what advert.....I didn't see one...
