The Bulldog smoke unit is now 'kaput' !

Post by centmk4 »

I'm not surprised really as the heating element looked pretty knackered when I dismantled the assembly to add the spacer behind the cupped washer.

I have looked on the internet but with no result, so I just wondered if you guys knew of a supplier who has these units in stock?

The type that the Bulldog has is of the clear plastic, and as you all probably know the outlet for the plastic tubes on the Bulldog are fixed to right angled plastic elbows as opposed to the Tiger1's straight outlets? Any ideas folks? ??? Thanks :P

Have you tried WDM or the two sellers on ebay "panzer commander" and "forgebear" the replacement units come with the plastic elbows on the end of the tubing, you just remove them if you only need to connect straight on to the top of the smoke unit which has the straight outlets.

even if you just solder on the resistor, it will work again.

& that definatley works.
i must confess, i diddn't bother with the aluminium tubes though
or a kevlar wick, i just wrapped the old one round it.
take the plunge, you wont regret it

Would it be possible to see your modified installation up and running in the hull amongst the other 'gubbins', as I feel the interior of the 'Bulldog' is quite restricted space wise?

A dead wire element can easily replaced with a 15 Ohm 3W ceramic resistor , reusing the wick .

. . . I also plugged/redrilled smaller wire holes in the top , to stop it leaking , but epoxy would do . It takes a little while to warm up , but is good and DEPENDABLE  Ya boo suck HL !
