Smother turret movement?

Hi, I have a Taigen Tiger I, I think the movement of the turret is a little bit to jerky, especially when aiming at something with the softgun.

Anyone that have any thoughts what to do about this?

No, the wires looks OK.
Maybe jerky is not the correct phrase, it is the fine tuning to get the right direction that is hard to get.
The rotation velocity seems to be constant and not proportional to the stick command. But for this, another and more advanced electronics may be needed.

It is easy to see with the gunner cam that I can put on the barrel.

Standard HL/Taigen fare. You can't really get accurate turret movement from the motor/receiver combination.

Not sure if I am following you corectly, with my panther I placed an in line a resistor in to slow it down.

How many ohms on the resistor?

It's a 15 ohm resistor wired in line .

Ive just tried this out on my Panzer III. I think it does definitely slow things down enough to make a difference. It seems much easier to turn the gun to where I want it and any over run seems to be more predictable.

I simply cut the red wire which goes into the turret rotation gearbox and soldered a 15 ohm resister between the 2 ends. Seems to work ok as I said.

I am using the Taigen 2.4Ghz radio gear but I don't think that makes a difference in this case.

I was so impressed with the difference on the Panzer III I also went ahead and did the same with my Panzer IV and Tiger I.

scalawag and CHIEFSONN, did you guys noticed that after the inline resistor the left and right turn in different speed ? Also, I noticed that the longer your turn, the slower it gets. Would it have something to do with the resistor breing on the neg vs the pos ?

I haven't seen either a difference in speed with direction, or any slowing down with time as the turret turns.

I am not well versed enough in these things to be able to say if it is a neg vs pos thing or not. Mine has a 15 ohm resistor soldered into a break in the pos lead.

It does not slow it too much but just enough to be able to position the barrel more easily.
