Hi all
I've just purchased a pair of graupner speed 400's
& was wondering what to do with the pinions.
Can I just reuse the old heng long ones
or should I get new ones?
Cheers

Re: motor pinion gears?
Just a case been there and got the tshirt
If you haven't already I would reccommend a pinion puller as is miles easier getting the thing off.

Re: motor pinion gears?
I think the pinions are put on hot so when it cools is a tight fit on shaft. But will come off with a pinion pullet (you be surprised how much force you need)
To put on I use a bit of spit (for lube) on shaft and push on as far as can by hand then some pipe grips to fully push on the shaft. Just make sure the pipe grips are on the shaft at both ends of the motor or you risk bending the shaft.
