Hi All,
I am new here and would like some tips on whats best for a newbie with RC?
Looking around, I like the look of the All Metal taigen Tiger 1 of similar....however, i was originally looking at Tamiyas, but the price is quite high....although I do Like the Leopard 2...?
All so, I see the sections for good and bad sellers...who is best service/price combination?

My recommendation would be Steve at Welsh Dragon Models and Dave at Forgebear, but there are a lot more, looking is part of the fun.Your choice of Tank is really a very personal thing but the all metal Taigen is as good as any and certainly better than the bog standard Heng Long, good luck.

I'm with jarndice on all accounts, with Steve and Dave, they are both top notch. Not sure where you are located but they both have super fast shipping. Example, Steve at WD, order a bunch of stuff on a friday and I got here in Canada the following friday, and its the same with Forgebear. In ref to the Taigen tank, I don't have one but have heard good things about them. My first tank mod is with a basic HL Tiger 1, lots of work but truely enjoyable watching this beast come together (You can see it down in the HL Build Forum). I got one of those Tamiya Leo 2's as well, sweet little tank, you cannot go wrong with that one. Hope this little bit helps and have fun...

I swear by Tamiyas,(got about 8 or 9), but if you are just starting out, you don't want to be spending lots on something you may not continue with.
You may be better off getting a Heng Long plus some upgrade parts and see how you go.

My first tank was a Heng Long KV-1 with all the metal upgrades available from Dynasty RC on Ebay (I think it's really Matomart) and it's still rolling great! never had any problems with it, changed the motors for a bit more power, but other than that, great runner! and can go pretty much anywhere with the larger tracks! Next step is probably the 3:1 gearboxes to have a more realistic speed...and I got the IR one, with all the after market parts, I can also fight with Tamiyas now
