HL Panzer IV not responding

Post by Kye »

Hello all

As per the title really.

it responds to the start engine button and seems to 'freeze' when shutting it down. The engine sound gets stuck half way through the shut down sequence. When the thing is running, no input at all works. I've checked cables and connection and everything is all in place.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm suspecting a stuffed control board.

Thanks

Kye

Have you checked your battery? After that check your crystals and make sure they are plugged in well and you have solid connections.
Still have an issue then come back and let us know the results of the above

Sounds like battery to me. Tried charging it up full. If you are using stock HL wall wart it might be faulty and not charging the battery fully.

Both batteries are fully charged and they are HL ones. My King Tiger works fine on both of them.

Crystals are set just fine.

Still no results though. The headlights flash, it goes through the start up sequence, the headlights stop flashing, it runs at idle and that is how it stays until I shut the engine back down. Nothing works apart from the start/ stop. The machine gun button or cannon buttons don't either. Bugger.

Sometimes when I am out of range I get this as well with the 28Mhz receiver. I assume radio antenna is up and the receiver board is all connected up properly with the ariel hook-up in the tank ?

Taigen is all in one so you will have to replace the whole MFU. If it is RX-18 then you could try swapping out the receiver board first to see if it is the board itself. Your KT is probably Taigen right ? So you can swap it out and see if it works on the Panzer IV.

I reckon the board is toast. I could change it with the KT, but the KT has the newer 2.4 Ghz system and I can't be doing with changing it over. I'll get a new RX and see what happens. In time the KT board will come over to the P4 once I upgrade it to El Mod or something similar.

Thanks for the input!
