Taigen Tiger 2.4ghz battery

Post by hitman1 »

I finally got my Taigen Tiger metal 2.4ghz. The guy I got it from hooked it up to run Lipo batteries. I want to be able to run my tank for a hour. What type of Lipo battery do i need and charger? Someone said trickle charger? Sorry I have no idea about any of this.

I normal go for 7.4v 5000mA hard case LiPo battery and matching connector. I use Deans but if you've not changed you need tamiya style plug.

Charger wise you need a smart charger and a charge bag to put the battery in (in case it wants to burst into fire).

You may also want a voltage alarm. This sounds if the voltage falls below 6v as this could damage the battery. In practice I've never had one and had a battery fall below 6v but the tank was acting funny anyway so found out it was flat.

No worries mate I was in your shoes 18 months ago and asked a lot of questions.

Got to admit the change to LiPo batteries is a great mod as it improves performance as well, it isn't a case of longer run time because larger capacity batteries.

If you any other questions just ask.
