I have only fitted it in Tiger I (Which I think it is design for along with Panzer III), Panzer IV and Asiatam Elephant. It also depends on whether yours comes with the metal bracket or not. I couldn't fit one in without the bracket in a Stug III but that's just me not being creative perhaps.

It should be fine in the KT....... KV-1 I am not too sure, a little tight perhaps ? On the otherhand it is suppose to fit in a Panzer III so can't really be any smaller than that. I scratch built the mount for the Elephant but that superstructure is so big I could have fit two in there.

thanks michael i will give it a try & will post results iff it works , but might need to make up a bracket to fit , just so it holds securely in the turret . brian, [tanker242]

hi michael the answer is yes it will fit in the kv1 turret but needs bracket & a little alteration of the swivel points to hold mantlet in place u need to cut one from bb shute to fit at the frount up & down pivot works so dose recoil after shortening barrel clamping piece no flash just now but will fit in old bb barrel ok ,brian [tanker242]

Good to know Brian. I gave up on mine but I really like the Asiatam recoil and might take another go at it. The elevation is not as high as the stock HL I believe and now that I think about it I think I did cut one of the BB Chute/pivot out to fit it as well. The other good thing is that it is much easier to fit the high intensity flash to the Asiatam recoil then the standard HL recoil.

hi michael yes it is easyer to fit flash to asiatam unit , keep pluging away at it & you will find it dose work just as well as the tiger1 & panzer1v . am busy building the hachette tiger just now & have used some of the parts on the heng long tiger ,like the engine grills .tools & tow ropes . my next project will be the sherman when i get it . brian [tanker242]

I don't see the Asiatam recoil for sale much anymore. I am also getting couple of MAKOs to play with and might try my hand in building one of those servo/HL recoil just for kicks. The Asiatam recoil is very nice package, but I do find that the mantlet hangs kinda loose (especially in the Tiger). I think the fact that you have to scratch build the pivot on the KV will help with that. On the Tiger you don't have much option. That's actually one of the reason I got couple of MAKOs is to get rid of the track recoil on one of the Tigers as the Asiatam recoil make the mantlet so loose that when I fire the who barrel/mantlet shakes. I already put in some extra piece just to "jam" the mantlet so it is not as loose but then you can't elevate much anymore.

hi michael try the mantlet supplyd by tank zone i found it isnt loose & works ok . as for up & down on kv1 u might need to remove some of the mantlet or rry trimming at the frount of turret whare it stops the barrel from lowering to create a sort of channel .if you see what i mean . as for asiatam recoil loads of them on tankzoe just look under upgrades . brian [tanker242]
