Waitin' for parts!...still...

Post by Bulldog01 »

Hey Tankbear and MichaelC...and the rest of ya! Well, still waiting for the X18 from tomato mart. Also ordered the dragon ATRC from immortal. Hopefully on the 7th. Anywho, Here's a progress report - Basically don't know what happened with the original X18, but it works if I leave the right drive plug out. Meaning it just turns left. Looked, but can't find anything obvious. Need a new one. Anywho...Made a shelf out of G-10 fiberglass for the ESC/MFU unit to sit on. Basically it sits on the smoker switch and volume control and nothing else from the factory. NO More! Also using velcro instead of servo tape..easier to remove.. Anywize, do have photos...They go in progression...from factory to small mod. Anyone know why the two small wires for the rear lights on the Bulldog are soldered directly to the board??? Machinegun flicker? and constant on? That's all I can figure.

Darren

Hi darren

I know your pain sitting and waiting for parts to arrive through the postal system.

Regarding the tail.lights I'm not certain why soldered to the RX18 when ive added tail lights I normal solder it into the 8 wire lead between the RX18 and tank top as that allows flexability to remove the RX18.

UPS says my new RX18 should be here Monday the 7th. The Dragon system Curtis from Immortal sent should arrive around the same time. A little something about Immortal - had an issue with Paypal so I contacted Curtis there over the phone and he shipped the Dragon system to me on the promise I send him a personal check!! Put it in the mail that day! Thanks Curtis...Looking forward to gettin' the tank running again.......

Here's the re-solder Ian for the rear lights..Thanks for that tip. Was easy to do. Soldered right at the root hub.. Checked all and is good except for the new RX18 and Dragon not being here!!! AHHHH

Looking good Darren. Matomart is usually very fast for me (Helps that they are basically down the street from me). Been away with no connectivity for couple of days. If you unplug the right motor everything works ?!?!? And there is nothing wrong with the right motor connection itself (i.e. if you stick the right motor lead into the left one everything still works ?) That is really strange. Anyway, The RX-18 would be much cleaner for you and no more soldering on the board needed. For the rear red light I would just solder it to the front headlight but I what you did works too I guess. Never thought of doing it this week. Like Ian said, great soldering skill !
