That 1/4 King Tiger was simply beautiful, and Im not afraid to say that when I leave uni and get a job, that is what I aspire to.

Hi guys,

I went to the Ally Pally show today and I'm afraid I was disappointed on many levels!

Tankwise there were about a dozen max tanks of the UKTC (i.e. almost all 1/6th apart from the KT). But from 11am to 3pm I only saw a 1/6th Sherman in action. I overheard one of the UKTC saying to a guy who had gone to the show because his young lad wanted to see the tanks (presumably saw the BBC video). The UKTC replied something like "Oh, we're only going to drive if we feel like it".

Next to them was the BMFA 'cage', inside that all day were flying electric planes and helicopters, almost without a single break. The UKTC area (as seen on the Beeb) was empty....

Oh well, let's hope the Brighton show in Feb is better! I can recommend the Midlands model engineering show which is usually towards the end of the year. In 2008 the UKTC (I think it was them) had less kit on display but were far more active. The show also has more stands and doesn't involve going into the traffic hellhole of London - there's 4 hours of my life wasted today in traffic I want back!!

The guys you saw in the Midlands where "Battle group Nord" part of the UKTC if you like we are a club within a club we have our own venues and share some of the main body UKTC evens

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
