main differences between early and mid production tiger 1's

Post by streetfighterjeff »

guys, what are the main differences? so far i have found the air filters on the reaer of the hull( can never spell them) , lack of grenade launchers on the hull and turret, shape and size of the turret box, placement of tools and zimmerit. oh and the wheels. only reason i ask is that most of my 1:35 stuff is early production so my internet suff weighs heavily towards that and the torro tiger is mid production.
hopefully it wont be too much :D

I think early and mid wheels are the same. Different cupola.

It's worth bearing in mind that the changes were often introduced gradually and many were retrofitted to existing tanks, so there are grey areas. e.g. You can find some mid-production models with the old hull mounted headlights...

Don't forget about the rear barrel travel lock, the addition of the C Clamps, spare track mounts on the turret and the placement of the fume ventilator on the turret roof. I think there is more...

think i have all those and i'm scratching a travel lock. from what other people have told me it almost depends on the month it was built.

cheers tanks, just read all your post again and it has given me some great pointers. luckily, seeing that its a torro tiger, most of the hard work, i.e the turret being correct, has been done. looks like it might just be a case of cosmetic stuff and days doing zim. was bad enough doing it on the KT. lol
