Charles Upham, a New Zealander who received a VC and bar and should have got a
second bar but didn't as the authorities believed a colonial could not have three VCs!

End up at Colditz and lived until he was 86, link below....

Who doesn't believe in Fate ?

Only three people have been honoured with the VC and Bar.

Charles Upham was the only person in WW2 to receive the VC and Bar.

He was married to Molly McTamney. Molly McTamney was a distant relative of Noel Chavasse.

Noel Chavasse was the only person in WW1 to receive the VC and Bar.

When Noel Chavasse was injured he was treated by Arthur Martin-Leake.

Arthur Martin-Leake received the VC and Bar for actions during the Boer War and WW1.

Spooky or what ?

I have always had a very high regard for General of the Army George C Marshall USA, at the end of the war he instituted the Marshall plan, this kept the Western European Nations out of Joe Stalins grip and perhaps more importantly fed the starving men, women and children.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
