hi all,
just a quick question
ive just bought my first airbrush & was wondering.
using tamiya acrylic paint,
what do you all use as a thinner & what roughly ratio do you thin it at?
just a thought, is there a cheaper & or better alternative to xf-60
as a base colour for panzer yellow?
thanks in advance for any help or advice

Re: paint thinning ratio?
i tend to go for a ratio thet comes out about the thickness of milk. not watery but a little thicker. do it by eye now , not sure of the exact ratio.
only here for a good time, not a long time

Tamiya spray dark yellow is TS-3, but remember the spray cans are lacquer instead of acrylic.
Tamiya Tiger 1, Tamiya M4 (105) HVSS, Tamiya Jagdpanther G1, ElMod Jagdpanther G2, ElMod KV-1E, ElMod StuG 40 G

Re: paint thinning ratio?
thanks guys
so not much thinners then? it seems not far off milk anyway.
ive ordered some xf-11 as i too dont like xf-61 (although i think it looks ok on a small t62 model, it doesn't look good on my 1:35 kt)
i'm sure it will look much better.
thanks again

Re: paint thinning ratio?
i tend to put thinners in and stir with a cocktail stick. when it runs off but you get a nice droplet on the end , seems about fine
