The first Tigers saw action in North Africa, indeed the Bovington Tiger was captured there, there is a lot been written about this tank and plenty of photographs including one with King George VI and Winston Churchhill peering into the cupola!
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I believe the 7th regiment of the 10th Panzer Division had Tigers, PIVs in Tunisia.
The Tigers were formally of sPZAbt. 501, renumbered the Tigers 7XX and 8XX.

The Tigers in 10th Pz.Div were numbered 1xx and 8xx. The old 1st company of s.Pz.Abt.501 kept their old numbers, while the 2nd company renumbered their tanks. This arrangement lasted only for the duration of Operation Ochsenkopf. Thereafter, all the Tigers were renumbered into the 7xx series.
