Tiger I late version part 2

Post by hotte8487 »

The order of my Tiger1 pics is reverse; the newest came first and now here older pics from the rebuild.
pic11.jpg
The Tiger I was my first Tank, which I've rebuilt. Today I know about some mistakes, but I can live with it. And my son too, he's drive this tank.
pic12.jpg
Sometime I will build a new one, for the lower hull, torsion bars, idler wheel, track tensioners and road wheels I've already concrete ideas. But especially upper hull and turret need some changes...
pic13.jpg
This Tiger has the HL controlling unit (RX 18 with smoke and sound), the next get a control unit by Elmod like my Kingtiger.
pic14.jpg
I don't like HL smoker, because my Tiger looks then like a steam locomotive... :problem:

My little dung beetle is armoured, just not so heavy as my tank... Okay, I must admit, he looks like a dead beetle, but in reality he has a break and is simply lying in the sun...

Two years are gone since I have finished my HL Tiger 1 build. Meantime I found the one or other mistake, also the camouflage pattern was not correct for me. So there were actually two ways, sell or again a rebuild. The one possibility is probably a big loss business and I lost my entry model or going but once again lend a hand - also costs once abundant money and time, but the latter was my choice.

The new conversion should include the following changes:

• change turret pivot and position
• change pivot point of the gun to the original point
• several changes to the engine deck
• add splinter protection ring
• changes at the turret hatches
• change of front-MG and lighting front
• add rear lighting, changes at the exhaust system
• installation/change of angle mirror
• change electronics from HL to ElMod, add a new speaker and a charging jack
• new paint with an other camouflage pattern

Meantime is this conversion program already completed. I will not show a complete report about the individual steps, but I will show you some photos during the building and some photos of the finished Tiger.
