Lots of very nasty people coming out of the woodwork in hobby based groups lately. I have no idea why. I posted an army that had won awards, and the first response was “thin your paints.”

I could not agree more with Adam.
FB groups are drama for our age group just for the sake of.
That said, how did I miss this? I follow a lot of the same groups you do Ian. I'm curious who it was? Just curious cuz I have an idea who it might be.
You are doing a great job IMO. The drama ain't worth your time. Keep it up. I'm following along here sir.

Oh, I’m not bothered about people who dismiss others work because they can’t do it, hadn’t thought of it, can afford to buy the easy option. Had they said “we don’t know about this, tell us more? Then it might have helped the OP, and they might have learned something, to improve their modelling. I would not no how to do it, if it was not for some very clever people on here. I hope I can do John 1979, and Jouphur68 justice, and prove the FB idiots wrong. As the build shows, my Tiger is a mishmash of parts, so trying to integrate different components from different companies has become a challenge and a learning experience.

As I get older, I write something, read it, and half the time just delete it saying to myself, "Do I even really care that much to get into this topic?"
I just had to have a conversation last night with one of my co-workers at work that basically boiled down to, "Ignore the idiots at work that like to talk about people."
It's kinda why I try to say something nice about a person's build and then if they want the rivet counter in me to chime in, I try to be nice about it.
So build what you like, share it if you want, and above all...have fun. Your happiness isn't based on other's like or dislike of your choices.

I find myself biting my lip and wondering whether I should be honest or sit on my hands and hope someone else can point out any failings because being from a miltary background I was bought up to just say it and damn the torpedoes.
For the first time I have actually seen that politicians really do have some value.

Being a team leader, in my old career, I learned to appreciate everyone’s idea in the team, listen, and if someone came up with a better solution, or answered a question with an alternative then we ran with that. The times I got my self into trouble by pointing out a different solution to my managers was unbelievable.
Anyway I now have a working recoil again. Said person on FB has been called out and proved that it can be done. Even though he carried on. Best just to laugh with him.
So all is good in the world. My chassis is back from playing Santa at work, so I can work out how to install the recoil to the gun over the new year period.

Spent some time on the recoil last night. Used the old base from the Tamiya and removed all the protrusions. And marked it up for installation of the new unit.

Next a barrel extension was made and a means to connect the barrel to the mechanism was also created. Not elegant by a means.

Finally the unit was mounted to the for mentioned base with two screws. I am not sure if the elevation connection thing, will work where I have put it. Taking measurements from the original, it is only a few mm off.

The photos make it look like it’s at an angle, but it is square.

Roy, thank you for the offer. As I said on a previous post. This was built to learn skills, and use what I had in the bits box. I am very happy with the way it turned out, for a bitsa. Not 100% accurate, and no where close to your builds. And as others have said, it makes me happy. It has been nowhere as problematic as my Challenger, and is probably the best runner, so get used most.
It was a big move from Derbyshire to Argyle, but so far the best thing we have done.
All that remains for me to do is wish you Merry Christmas.
