I remember him Mr Wolf............needs a Macca's voucher & a few days off !

No significant progress, got back from a school holidays weekend away & was a bit flat
Got the headlights mounted, not to be working though as there really is no need.
Dressed the back end with Mr Surfacer 500 to check it was in order & am happy with the finish to the mods.

Not being able to help myself, had to make a pistol port plug hanging out too
A section of cut sprue melted on one end & shaped to fit the sliced off cap from the casemate, & a small length of chain stuck on the end, fettled into the inside of the casemate by a long skewer & super glue via the rear hatch to get it sitting in the right spot

I reckon the only thing stopping me going to paint is the need to do welds............and there are quite a lot of those to be done.

Well at least you are making progress even if very slowly. Just can't get into the right frame of mind to finish off my Conqueror at all. Perhaps the onset of cold weather will spur me on. Can't wait to see your Ferdinand painted.

A few welds in place, the Tamiya Epoxy Putty is bloody sticky & seems to want to go everywhere except what you want it at times, but once it does, the stuff is great !
Commanders hatch, towing points and bits & bobs now sorted with at least a bit of weld looking stuff !!
I went against doing the interlocking plate welds as I reckon they look ok as they are are.
The cutting marks I did do though, evidence from surviving examples shows that even at the early(ish) stages of prime German weapon manufacturing there were still things that were let go..................no time & no point in trying to get everything smooth !

Yeah I have the same problem with Tamiya Epoxy putty sticking to everything (fingers, tools, mat board) but the kit
I found that waiting a bit so it starts to harden helps a lot!
And I always put my tools in water before shaping the putty! Baby powder can help too.

Just as a matter of interest I use Green stuff two part epoxy to create welds and sounds a lot easier than the Tamiya putty. Great result as on my KT build and all of them were created with slightly sniped tooth pick.

Ohhhhh Yessssss Mr. Bix! Flame Cuts And Weld Beads. The stuff I Love and Hate... I usually hate it till I get in the groove. I'll do it while watching a movie. Then I Love the results!

IIRC you were one of the guys who got me into it. A very worthwhile adventure.

I use the Green stuff too. It has a good working time and once I remember how it works it ain't half bad. Water on the tools and your fingers is key. I use two pieces of scrap styrene sheet with a splash of H2O for rolling the weld bead noodles.

This really is coming along with your usual aplomb.
