German Armor what if,Ok what if they had shot that fat headed Goring in the head, then let Adolph Galland run the air campaign, the Navy would of had aircraft as well then the entire Baltic Naval action would have opened another Russian front with the Icelanders being a Armor force jumping off point and the Murmansk base would have fallen; shuting down the flow of Material to Russia.

Then the air superiority of the Luftwaffe would have been secured and Stalingrad would never of happened as Galland would have been advising Hitler instead of Fat boy, The entire German war Machine was destroyed under the Goring four year plan to stupid production ideas.

I do not ever see Germany winning the war in the West, yet an early Victory over Russia may have in fact changed the whole conduct of the war.

America would have still had Japan to deal with but they joined the War after Pearl Harbour at the insistence of Goring Fat head again advising Hitler to declare war on the USA,who was also being pumped full of Meth by the very Doctor servicing GoringS heroin addiction.

So without FAT BOY the normal professional Generals like Galland may have held a stronger control over the conduct of the war,and possibly put a bullet in a few more skulls, like Sicko chicken farmer HIMMLER. Now the professionals fight the war,and better armor is produced like the Panther designed with the 88 and a Turbo Diesel power plant from the MANN company. My rant is over,The lost production can be blamed on these two animals.

How about a few more pictures of that fine bit of modelling? That is exactly the kind of armor development that was possible without fat boy and chicken farmer.

That a great build so far will love to see the end result! Just to get my thoughts in here when it comes down to armor and engineering we all no that the Germans were the best! Every Tank they built was a work of art and that is why today there tanks are the most popular! If Germany could of built there tanks faster we mite all be speaking german!!! Now !! For me the german tanks of yesterday are like the supercars of today! They were just the best looking and the best armoured ! They you go that's what I think!

Well you can't go much lower than the Swedish S tank, 'its lower than a rattlesnake in a cattle rut' however I don't think it has seen any combat experience.
But with front wheel drive, maximum crew protection and mobility what if has become what is, there isn't much better than the IDF Merkava 4. The Israelis starting with used Shermans have developed weapon systems to the nth degree for MBTs.

god...I can't beleive I have to explain this when it comes to tank hight on a armor fourm....think about hit profile( what can be hit and kill the tank and or kill the crew)..... here is a pic of a t44-85 and a panther d tank next to each other.

Image

Look at the t44. See what there is to hit above the tracks? Now look at the panther. The panther has a whole bunch more hull above the tracks than the the t44. All of the hull has to be armored and any penatrations = one dead tank. Its not just the total hight of the tank, its how much of the tank is higher than it needs to be. Same with the M24. This is why the germans were looking to make those little turrets on panther f's, to decrease the amount of tank that was up in the hit zone.

now back to freakydudes thread....

mustclime you will never get us to believe that WWII German Armour is not BEST in class regardless of who the comparison is against.
The T-34 and allied tanks needed smaller hulls because one shot from post 1943 German Armour killed your tank dead.
The reports I have seen of Tigers and Panthers taking several shots is a truth all on it's own.

Me if I was there I would of certainly of been wanting to be in a Panther or Tiger regardless of which side I fought on.

no updates yet, i'll be gone on a business trip with no access to Greta :'( . I did finally get the servo hooked up and have active gun elevation. Now if i can only figure out how to get the recoil with a servo.... thats going to be fun I think.
I will have a set of Tamiya KT road wheels here when I get back though so that is great. I'll finally have a rolling chassis maybe.
