Last update of the day. Got busy with a couple projects in the garage today, so not much tanking today.
Castle nut isn't perfect but it is home made with a hacksaw (I broke my last Dremel cut off wheel yesterday). I'll look for options at some point (3mm).

Wow,man! Just got back from a vacation and only missed a couple of days and you’ve soared onwards with this project with speed and skill. It definitely inspires me to improve my modeling patience and skills.

Castellated nut is the correct American term, but most of us non engineer (or professor) types shorten it to castle. I hope it to be temporary, I need two more for the boom pivot ends.

That should teach you about taking vacations. Hope you had a great time!
Well I know you're not learning patience from me. I barely slept the first couple days...
As far as skills go, that comes with practice. I've said it many times, my skills are lightyears behind many on this forum. But I have loved fabrication/inventiveness since the 70's, and my brother was instrumental in encouraging me and teaching the craft.

Slight rework on the three points on the boom's bolts. I found a well used cut off disc in the bottom of the box.

I did say this is when the build would slow down...
.020 slats, .040 spacers (.5 & 1 mm).
Why did I make two? I knew they would be fragile and were going to spend a short time on the belt sander. I made two in case one of them didn't survive sanding.
