Hi Yes cut the sides off and when I cut the front glace. I glued the mudguards to the metal hull with superglue and filed the glace to fit over the top of them,Mine is also having Heng long electrics along with a Darkith battle system ,will be fitting this this week ,then testing and final detailing .

Thanks thats what I thought you had done regarding the side lips . Will have to have another look at your post . Will there be more photos ? Its certanily a good build . I was'nt sure to make mine the Firefly or a standard one . Its my tank but my daughter will use it . And she didnt want a pea shooter .  I havent started this build yet , as like most people on here I have several builds on the go and as Im out of work I have to be carefull what I spend some of my projects are on hold. I do like converting the tanks . Im crrently working on my HL late war Tiger I . Im not upto your spec but its all experiance . And I shall definetly vote your tank for the master class . Well done. Can I ask what do you thinks the best option regadding the suspension as I here HL are bringing out a Sherman , do you think they will use the wartime suspension ( sorry Im not up on Shermans so dont know the correct names)  and could it be fitted to the Tamiya tank ?

The plan is that that Mato will release a replacement 'early style' (Vertical Volute Spring Suspension) kit specifically for the Tamiya Sherman. See this thread for a sneak peak: http://www.rctankwarfare.com/Forums/ind ... 867.0.html

Hi Martin hope they release the suspension units before the Sherman like they have with the KV1 tracks .

Hi Pete,
Thanks I will do Ive fixed my loaders hatch today had to make one hing for the hatch as it had snaped off and I also had to make the part thats fixed to the tank as I couldnt get to  drill a hole throught it to re mount it . I also adde internal detail and removed the outside plastic handle and made a brass one and re positioned it to one side as the late Tigers seem to be. Thanks for your comments.

I tried to press Swathdiver, but all he could give away was what Mato was deciding on as the next release - which wasn't the suspension kit
(check my post in the Mato Sherman pics thread)
The KV-1 tracks are a Impact product, they took a flier on the HL release just like I'm hearing they're rumoured to be doing with the fabled Hooben Elephant...

But if you want to buy a Mato Sherman and swap the suspension for your HVSS I'll take the leftovers off your hands, lol!

Pete were you get that orange gear ring im using one out of a old HL Panther for my Tamiya KT and am looking for one for my Tamiya Sherman that im making into a Firefly .

Hi I think mine came from an old panther it was the only one I had spare ,I cut strips of plastic to fill the gap and keep it in the middle then put scews though to hold it in position.

Thanks Ex_pat_tanker ive got a HL 1 from a Bulldog for the Sherman was just wondering were Pete got the orange 1 thats the first 1 ive seen that color from HL was wondering if there was a place that sold the ring as a replacement for HL rings .
